The 3rd anniversary meeting of Jackson Citizens for Economic Growth (JCEG) will feature Doug Rothwell of Business Leaders for Michigan and the Michigan Turnaround Plan - Five Steps for a Better Michigan.
Business Leaders for Michigan is an organization dedicated to making Michigan a "Top Ten" state for job and economic growth. Serving as the state's business roundtable, Business Leaders for Michigan is composed of the chairpersons, chief executives or most senior executives of the state's largest job providers and universities, those that provide over 300,000 jobs in Michigan, generate over $1 trillion in annual revenue, and serve over 100,000 students.
Doug Rothwell, President and CEO of Business Leaders for Michigan, has a distinguished background in economic development, including serving as President of Detroit Renaissance, and President and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Just as it appears the recession has ended and Michigan has an opportunity to start a rebound, the way we approach the future can determine how quickly and thoroughly Michigan may be able to come back. Aspiring to return to the status of a top ten state can be the best blueprint to assure a better future. Mr. Rothwell will outline the well-conceived plan that Michigan businesses are suggesting to build a new Michigan that is better situated for the New Economy.
