Good Event, Bad Answers

The idea for this event was great. JCEG did a really great thing in giving the council the opportunity to share their visions. Too bad the council didn't use the opportunity.

I was very dissapointed in the council members. This was an opportunity to share with some of the decision makers in Jackson their vision for the future. Instead they spent time covering their backsides. When they did share ideas, they were small like re-doing Cooper St.

Let's face it, a trashy Cooper St. is not the reason that business aren't finding a "front door" to Jackson.

Hats of to JCEG for doing the event.

I left that meeting with one realization: We cannot sit around and expect government bodies like the city council to bring about lasting and impacting change. That is going to ahve to happen from the ground up.

Town Hall

The whole mission of JCEG is a progressive, timely, and needed venture. Hats off to the individuals who had the strength and vision to pull this group together.

As far as the Town Hall meeting, I thought that the questions, for the most part, were redundant and unnecessary. The format should have allowed the audience to ask the questions. The program would have been more stimulating and educational (as it was the most stimulating part was the confrontation between Dunigan & Ross). It was a waste of time for each council member to answer each question. It would have been interesting to talk about what is happening in each Ward and hear what the audience thought were important issues for the council to address.

It seemed as who ever wrote the questions had a grudge against Ross. I am uncertain, if Ross was not able to talk, why he was even there.

Thank you for asking for feed back.
